realest thing I’ve seen in a while

this was so amazing. so thought provoking. an eye-opening social criticism.

I find it interesting how society doesn’t care when the media sexualizes women, when men sexualize women, or when school and the government sexualize women. But the second a woman is in control, and sexualizes herself willingly, it’s wrong and disgusting.

I am sick and tired of people talking about pureblood Slytherins.

Because you know who’s going to have the most ambition? The most innate sense of their own superiority? The muggle-born one. The first wizard in an ordinary family. No one else was special enough. Just them. Give…

Anonymous said: But is there actually any evidence that James and Sirius matured during the war?

marauders4evr:

…Yes, actually.

We know that eventually, the war got really bad. And James, Lily, Sirius, and remus did grow up; in what has to be the worst way to grow up. They were forced to grow up. Because things got darker. In the Goblet of Fire, Sirius reflects back on it and says:

"Imagine that Voldemort’s powerful now. You don’t know who his supporters are, you don’t know who’s working for him and who isn’t; you know he can control people so that they do terrible things without being able to stop themselves. You’re scared for yourself, and your family, and your friends. Every week, news comes of more deaths, more disappearances, more torturing… The Ministry of Magic’s in disarray, they don’t know what to do, they’re trying to keep everything hidden from the Muggles, but meanwhile, Muggles are dying too. Terror everywhere… panic… confusion… that’s how it used to be."

There was no waking from this nightmare, no comforting whisper in the dark that he was safe really, that it was all in his imagination; the last and greatest of his protectors had died, and he was more alone than he had ever been.
